Seuil Optique - Sitting in the Dark




Plongeant scène et public dans une obscurité constante, Seuil Optique élabore des tableaux sonores ou s'entrecroisent  transmissions électroniques, paysages acousmatiques et drones épurés. En bousculant les frontières entre l’écoute, la manipulation aveugle des machines et l'expérience immersive proposée au public, les musiciens de Seuil Optique explorent de nouvelles pistes sonores, en dialogue permanent avec les musicalités hybrides et la pratique d'instruments singuliers.

Sur scène, ils utilisent des stratégies d'improvisation volontairement "ouvertes" et déjouent les frontières entre la manipulation des machines dans le noir, les harmoniques teintées de matériaux bruitistes et l’expérience auditive « les yeux fermés » proposée au public.

Seuil Optique sort son second Album, Sitting in the Dark, en Décembre 2019 chez Snow in Water Records.

This duo, composed of Sig Valax and Nicolas Tourney, offers a singular experience of listening to music in the dark.
Plunging stage and public in complete darkness, Seuil Optique elaborates ethereal electronic transmissions, manufactures drones which oscillate between noise and kinematic voyage, sublimates those objects of the daily life that our habits had made inaudible. By jostling the boundaries between listening, the blind manipulation of machines and the immersive experience offered to the public, Seuil Optique seek new sound tracks, in permanent dialogue with hybrid musicalities and the practice of rare instruments.

The second album of Seuil Optique, "Sitting in the Dark" (Snow in Water Records, release date : 28/11/2019), is now available on all streaming's platforms.
